His education and awards include: Bachelor Of Music, University Of London (1975); Grammy Award-Best Rock Instrumental 1979; Guitarist Of The Year - Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine 2000; and Grammy Award - Best Pop Instrumental Album 2004. As a young working musician in London, England in the 1970s, Laurence Juber got an extraordinary, life-changing break when Paul McCartney picked him to become Wings lead guitarist.

Patty Larkin

Larkin’s appearance is part of the Center’s on-going acoustic series. Larkin combines folk, traditional, and contemporary music with sounds we hear everyday, including the use of technology as part of her artistic expression. She has won 11 Boston Music Awards, has produced 11 albums, and two live records. She is part of the emerging multi-genre field of international women guitarists who produce, write, sing, and engineer their own albums. Special guest Merrie Amsterburg will also perform with Patty Larkin.

Giggle, Giggle, Quack

 This children’s production is presented by the Dallas Children’s Theatre (DCT). Founded in 1984, the DCT is now the largest professional family theater in the Southwest. Because DCT is based in a metropolitan area rich in cultural diversity, their productions promote social values, moral integrity, and reflect diversity through casting and themes.

The Hot Club of San Francisco

November 30, 2010
7:00 p.m.

The Hot Club of San Francisco plays the gypsy jazz music of guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli and the original Hot Club de France. This unique jazz form recalls Paris in the 1930s and offers a swinging beat with a sweet melody. This holiday concert is in conjunction with the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Central Park. Hot Club will play a short outdoor concert at the park during the tree lighting ceremony, which is free of charge for the general public, followed by the Parade of Lights in downtown Ardmore. The Goddard Center's concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Trio Cavatina

Formed in 2005, this outstanding young ensemble is relatively new to the chamber music scene. Individually and together, they have become well known at music festivals and competitions worldwide. Trio Cavatina is comprised of Harumi Rhodes on violin, Priscilla Lee on cello, and Ieva Jokubaviciute on piano. The Walter W. Naumburg Foundation announced Trio Cavatina as the winner of the Naumburg 2009 Chamber Music Competition. The prize included a recital at Carnegie Hall in 2010.

Ailey II

Ailey II is the junior troupe of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, a predominantly African-American Dance Company. The company has earned a reputation as one of the most acclaimed international ambassadors of American culture, promoting the uniqueness of the African-American cultural experience and the preservation and enrichment of the American modern dance.

Edgar Cruz

April 14, 2011

This outstanding acoustic guitarist grew up in an atmosphere of Latin/Mariachi music. Cruz obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in guitar performance from Oklahoma City University in 1986. Today he performs, arranges, publishes, records, distributes, and markets his music internationally on a full-time basis. Besides performing throughout his home state of Oklahoma, most of his time is spent performing both nationally and internationally. Cruz is a strong icon at most festivals in Oklahoma including Festival of the Arts, Paseo Festival, Sunfest, Global Oklahoma, and several Hispanic Festivals including the Oklahoma City Mariachi Festival.
