The Hot Club of San
Francisco plays the gypsy jazz music of guitarist Django
Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli and the
original Hot Club de France. This unique jazz form
recalls Paris in the 1930s and offers a swinging beat
with a sweet melody. This holiday concert is in
conjunction with the Ardmore Chamber of Commerce’s
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Central Park. Hot Club
will play a short outdoor concert at the park during the
tree lighting ceremony, which is free of charge for the
general public, followed by the Parade of Lights in
downtown Ardmore. The Goddard Center's concert will
begin at 7:00 p.m.

Formed in 2005, this
outstanding young ensemble is relatively new to the
chamber music scene. Individually and together, they
have become well known at music festivals and
competitions worldwide. Trio Cavatina is comprised of
Harumi Rhodes on violin, Priscilla Lee on cello, and
Ieva Jokubaviciute on piano. The Walter W. Naumburg
Foundation announced Trio Cavatina as the winner of the
Naumburg 2009 Chamber Music Competition. The prize
included a recital at Carnegie Hall in 2010.

This outstanding
acoustic guitarist grew up in an atmosphere of
Latin/Mariachi music. Cruz obtained a Bachelor of Music
degree in guitar performance from Oklahoma City
University in 1986. Today he performs, arranges,
publishes, records, distributes, and markets his music
internationally on a full-time basis. Besides performing
throughout his home state of Oklahoma, most of his time
is spent performing both nationally and internationally.
Cruz is a strong icon at most festivals in Oklahoma
including Festival of the Arts, Paseo Festival, Sunfest,
Global Oklahoma, and several Hispanic Festivals
including the Oklahoma City Mariachi Festival.
