Wheel Throwing

Come explore the tradition of wheel throwing! This is an intensive class for those who want to learn the craft of thrown pottery. This class is geared for beginners and intermediates. It will entail clay preparation, centering and throwing a variety of forms.

Adult Workshops

“Plein Air” Drawing
Adults (Ages 15 +)

Improve your drawing skills with landscapes by drawing while observing your surroundings. This workshop will cover lines, shapes, contour, surface textures and light. For the first hour, students will sketch their composition outdoors. The other two hours of the workshop will be devoted to painting their piece indoors with either acrylics or watercolors. Students should bring a sketch book, a pencil and the preferred medium with which they would like to work. Plein Air Workshop Location: Garden Center, 500 Stanley Ave SW, Ardmore, Painting: Art Studios.

Granite Sculpting

Adults (Ages 16 +)

Create art that lasts a lifetime! Get one-on-one instruction from National Medal of Arts Recipient Jesús Moroles! Students will learn the proper and safe use of manual and power tools as granite is sawed, chiseled, grinded and polished in a subtractive method to create a unique work of art! No art experience required! Students may provide their own granite or granite is available onsite for a small fee. All other materials and tools are included. Lunches will be provided. This intensive, four day workshop will allow for the completion of larger projects.
