Cartooning Basics
Ages 8-12

This workshop will guide students through the basics of cartooning by using simple shapes to design their own characters and deliver their own personal style. Students will learn character design, composition, expressions to convey moods, drawing action packed poses and creating their own super heroes!

Manga/Anime Drawing - Beginners                     Ages 13-17

Explore the methods of drawing manga, a style of drawing that is based on the art of Japanese comic books. Students will focus on drawing basic faces and expression, anatomy, figure drawing and character design. All materials will be provided, however students are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks.              .

Explore techniques in charcoal drawing including proportion, scale and value. Students will create a frameable still life drawing by the end of the class.

Wheel Throwing

Come explore the tradition of wheel throwing! This is an intensive class for those who want to learn the craft of thrown pottery. This class is geared for beginners and intermediates. It will entail clay preparation, centering and throwing a variety of forms.

Adult Workshops

Fly Tying Only 3 Spots Left!
Adults (Ages 16 +)

This class will give novice fly tiers the ability to tie several productive flies for the surrounding area. Why these flies are important and how they are fished will also be discussed. The flies selected for this class can be used for trout, bream, and bass as well as many other species.

Experimental Techniques in Watercolor
Adults (Ages 16 +)

This one day workshop will focus on working with watercolor using experimental wet to wet techniques on 140 pound paper. Beginners are welcome!

Granite Sculpting
Adults (Ages 16 +)

Create art that lasts a lifetime! Get one-on-one instruction from National Medal of Arts Recipient Jesús Moroles! Students will learn the proper and safe use of manual and power tools as granite is sawed, chiseled, grinded and polished in a subtractive method to create a unique work of art! No art experience required! Students may provide their own granite or granite is available onsite for a small fee. All other materials and tools are included. Lunches will be provided. This intensive, four day workshop will allow for the completion of larger projects.
